For several years now, Managemen has managed its own distribution of music under the (music) label ‘Managemen’. In this way we can put music from our artists online in our own management on the well-known streaming services such as Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, Deezer, etc. Publishing music is often experienced as very difficult, beyond that we have a lot of experience in guiding our artists in the tricky ‘rights’ part of the music industry. It is very important to be able to properly guide and protect artists in the music rights that can be placed with, among others, BUMA STEMRA, SENA, etc.
Publishing music can be a complex challenge. To release music on the well-known streaming services platforms, you have to do so through a music distributor, also known as a ‘music label’. As an artist, you cannot get your own music on the streaming services without doing it through a music label. A label ensures that a new single or album is scheduled on the desired release date with the right cover arts etc. Major music labels often offer broader services beyond putting new music online, such as producing music and providing full-length video clips.
In guiding its artists, Managemen has decided to take this music distribution into its own hands, but does not rule out the possibility that at some point it would be wise to guide an artist towards a broader label that has even broader services outside of releasing.
